This year will be the fourth annual Midwest Astro-Imaging Conference. Our imaging conference is not the largest. Our conference does not have an astronomy and telescope expo taking place immediately afterwards. But we do have the same quality of speakers and presentations as the others. Don't take our word for it, read the glowing testimonials from our attendees. We offer somethings that the others don not. |

Adam Block's four-day "Making Every Pixel Count" workshops demonstrate tools and techniques that improve proficiency in processing astronomical CCD images. In this one-day program, he will highlight critical ideas and choices that cover both fundamental data reduction in CCDWare's CCDStack as well as artistic considerations when using Adobe Photoshop. Many of these techniques address typical issues such as gradients, stellar artifacts, smoothing, and handling "weird" data. |

The fourth annual Midwest Astro-Imaging Conference (MWAIC) will combine with the Mac Astronomy Workshop (MAW) and take place at the NUI Education Center in Hoffman Estates, IL on July 23-24, 2010. The combined conferences will feature experts covering the latest in Windows and Mac astronomy and astrophotography, as well as platform independent imaging techniques. MWAIC and MAW workshops will take place on Friday in separate rooms. Platform independent presentations will take place during joint sessions in the auditorium on Saturday. The NIU Hoffman Estates Education Center is located 20 minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airpot. Check back soon, or subscribe to our RSS feed, for more information on the list of speakers, vendors, schedule and more. |

We have revamped the MWAIC website using a content management system (CMS) that will allow us to better serve current and future conference needs. Prior to the change, we were utilizing Google Sites to maintain the conference website. The new website will allow us to better communicate conference information, improved registration and provide attendees with access to resources (e.g. presentation PDFs from prior conferences; login required, coming soon). |
